Default Prophecies Character getting to Shing Jea?

I'm wondering if it's possible for a Tyria-born character to go to the Shing Jea monestary, and if so how?

Yes, it's possible.

If you are already in Marketplace, go out to the Kaineng Docks and talk to First Mate Xiang and he'll get you to Seitung Harbor. Take the Saoshang exit and it's a short run to the monastery.

You can, but there is little point in it since you can't do any quests there and the missions doesn't count.

Canthan exploration counts, and the first two missions for the Protector of Cantha title, though you get no XP from them

Edit: Oh, and on the starter island you can also do the Bog Beast of Bokku quest. I did that the other day with my Tyrian.

I seriously doubt they count for a non canthan char.

Sorry to contradict you, but they do. How else would those lucky few with the Kind of a Big Deal title have managed to get both Protector of Tyria and Protector of Cantha on one character?

Edit: fixed quote

Well since the number of missions listed on the Hero screen is 13 for a Tyrian born, I fail to see why you would need to do the first two (same goes the other way around).

EDIT: Duh I though there was 15 in all

But... there are only 13 Canthan missions, right? *scratches head* Not counting the Challenge Missions that I think are not necessary for the Protector title.

There's 13 missions in factions, the two on the starter island count in the protector title. Challenge missions don't count toward the title and they are not necessary to continue the storyline. Just grab the primary quest from the outpost and move on.
